The company sold 112,195 units in Q2 2024, down from 131,888 units in the same period last year. This represents a notable decrease as the company faces various market challenges.

Regional Sales Performance

  • Trucks North America: Contributed 48,230 units to the Group’s overall sales, a slight decrease from 50,618 units sold in Q2 2023.
  • Mercedes-Benz: Achieved 30,604 unit sales, significantly lower than the 39,236 units sold in the previous year’s second quarter.
  • Trucks Asia: Reported 28,342 units sold, a drop from 40,097 units in Q2 2023.
  • Daimler Buses: Contrary to the overall trend, Daimler Buses increased its sales by 8%, reaching 6,648 units compared to 6,181 units in Q2 2023.

Surge in Electric Vehicle Sales

A notable highlight is the significant rise in the sales of battery-electric vehicles. The unit sales of these vehicles increased by 69% to 648 units in Q2 2024, up from 383 units in the same quarter last year. This growth reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and meet increasing market demand for sustainable transportation solutions.

First Half 2024 Sales Overview

In the first half of 2024, Daimler Truck sold a total of 221,106 trucks and buses. This is a decline from the 257,060 units sold during the same period in 2023, indicating ongoing challenges in various regional markets and segments.
