  • Telekom opens Master Security Operations Center in Bonn to combat increasing cyberattacks using AI, handling 30,000-40,000 attacks per minute, detecting 800 botnet servers monthly, and analyzing billions of data points daily.

Mon Sep 09 11:12:35 -0000 2024 UTC– Telekom has increased its cyber defense due to a rise in attacks, with a new Master Security Operations Center in Bonn using AI and learning systems to analyze vast amounts of security data daily.

Sophisticated ‘Tsunami’

The center also detects and neutralizes botnet servers and sophisticated ‘tsunami’ denial-of-service attacks. Over 250 experts monitor systems globally, making it one of Europe’s largest cyber security centers.

New Master Security Operations Center (SOC)

Deutsche Telekom has significantly strengthened its cyber defense capabilities in response to the increasing frequency and sophistication of cyberattacks, particularly those enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI). The company has launched a new Master Security Operations Center (SOC) in Bonn, designed to analyze and respond to security threats with unprecedented efficiency.

One of Europe’s largest

The new SOC is one of Europe’s largest cybersecurity facilities, staffed by over 250 experts who monitor systems worldwide. Using advanced AI and machine learning systems, the center processes billions of security-related data points daily, sourced from a quarter of a million data inputs. This almost fully automated analysis allows Telekom to identify and neutralize threats, such as botnet servers and advanced ‘tsunami’ denial-of-service attacks, in real time.

Internet Decoy Systems

In addition to safeguarding its own infrastructure, Deutsche Telekom evaluates up to 95 million attempted attacks on its internet decoy systems every day. These insights are integrated into the company’s Threat Intelligence database, now regarded as the most comprehensive in Europe.

This expansion of cyber defense measures comes at a time of heightened global tensions, with ongoing crises and conflicts contributing to an increase in AI-driven cyber threats. Deutsche Telekom’s proactive approach reflects the growing need for robust cybersecurity strategies as the digital landscape continues to evolve.
