PARIS, France — Saint-Gobain is strengthening its construction chemicals platform in Peru and expanding its plasterboard production capacity in Brazil.
The French industrial group said in an emailed press release today that these moves reinforce its position as a leader in light and sustainable construction solutions across Latin America.
Peru Acquisition Strengthens Construction Chemicals
Saint-Gobain completed the acquisition of QSI Productos para la Construcción in Peru. This transaction strengthens Saint-Gobain’s regional construction chemicals platform.
The platform already includes Soquimic and established brands such as Weber and Z Aditivos. The acquisition reinforces the Group’s presence in key end markets in Peru, including infrastructure and mining.
Brazil Expansion Boosts Plasterboard Capacity
In Brazil, Saint-Gobain announced the construction of a fourth plasterboard production line. This new line will be located at its plant in the State of Bahia.
This investment follows the inauguration of a third plasterboard production line at the same site in 2024. Once completed, the Bahia site will host the largest plasterboard production line in South America.
The expansion aims to support the growing adoption of light construction in the region.
