18,000 square meters of space
With over 18,000 square meters of space, this new terminal triples DHL’s capacity at the airport, allowing it to process up to 6,500 packages per hour for imports (a 150% increase) and 5,000 packages per hour for exports (a 300% rise).
X-rays and automatic weighing
The facility features advanced automation systems, including X-rays and automatic weighing and measuring equipment, which will enhance the speed, efficiency, and security of shipment handling.
This expansion positions DHL to support double-digit annual volume growth, reinforcing its leadership in the Portuguese logistics sector.
Building Includes Solar Panels
In line with its sustainability goals, DHL has also equipped the facility with 130 loading bays, 119 of which are prepared for electric vehicles. The building includes solar panels and energy-efficient lighting and ventilation systems, underscoring DHL’s commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its operations.
