Diemen, The Netherlands — Randstad Enterprise, a European recruiting specialist, said its shareholders Tuesday confirmed all proposals at the Annual General Meeting, including the decision on its top job: Cees ‘t Hart is succeeding Wout Dekker as the Chair of the Supervisory Board.
After eight years as CEO of the Carlsberg Group, ’t Hart decided to step down mid 2023, Carlsberg said last year in a press release.
Carlsberg Group, founded in 1847 in Copenhagen, Denmark, has grown into one of the world’s leading brewery groups, known for iconic beer brands like Carlsberg and Tuborg. The company’s emphasis on innovation and sustainability, along with its global presence, makes it a key player in the beverage industry.
Under the leadership of CEO Cees ‘t Hart, Carlsberg Group has demonstrated a remarkable trajectory of growth, culminating in a record-breaking 2022 with the highest revenue and operating profit in the company’s history. The brewery giant reported revenues of DKK 70.3 billion and an operating profit of DKK 11.5 billion, underscoring its robust financial health.
Since Cees ‘t Hart took over in 2015, Carlsberg has seen a significant enhancement in its financial, strategic, and societal performance. Shareholder returns, comprising dividends and share buy-backs, have witnessed a fivefold increase, reaching DKK 7.8 billion in 2022. This impressive growth is a testament to the company’s solid strategy and execution.
The SAIL’22 strategy, launched in 2016, played a pivotal role in this success. It focused on strengthening Carlsberg’s portfolio across various brands and geographies, while maintaining a keen eye on cost-efficiency and cash flow, part of the company’s ‘Funding the Journey’ culture.
In addition to financial growth, Carlsberg has been a front-runner in sustainability efforts. As one of the first companies globally to set science-based climate targets in line with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, Carlsberg achieved a substantial 57% reduction in carbon emissions. This progress marks a significant contribution towards global efforts in mitigating climate change.
