DEME Posts Strong First Half 2026 Results, Eyes Record Year

ZWIJNDRECHT, Belgium — DEME reported strong financial results for the first half of 2026, with net profit increasing by 20% and turnover rising by 2%. The Belgian dredging and offshore energy contractor is on track for what management expects to be a record year.

DEME said in an emailed press release today that its net profit reached 215 million euros, up from 179 million euros in the prior-year period.

Financial Performance

The company’s group turnover for the first six months of 2026 was 2.2 billion euros, a 2% increase from 2.1 billion euros a year ago. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) stood at 466 million euros, representing a margin of 21.6%.

Order Book and Outlook

DEME’s order book reached 7.1 billion euros, providing healthy visibility for future activity. Management now expects 2026 turnover to slightly exceed the 2025 level. The EBITDA margin is projected to stay in line with 2025.

Fleet Expansion

Strategic fleet expansion continued in the first half of 2026. Both new jack-up transport and installation vessels, Norse Wind and Norse Energi, started operations. DEME also ordered a new large trailing suction hopper dredger to strengthen its dredging fleet.
