(Homberg – Efze, Germany) — Following the official confirmation of a bird flu outbreak in a commercial poultry farm in Edermünde-Grifte in the Schwalm-Eder district on Thursday, authorities issued an order establishing a restricted zone around the affected farm.

This zone includes a protection zone (formerly known as the restricted area) with a minimum radius of 3 km and a surveillance zone (formerly the observation area) with a minimum radius of 10 km around the affected farm in Edermünde-Grifte.
