July 05 2024 09:05:25 UTC– Amplify Cell Technologies, a joint venture of Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Truck, and PACCAR, starts building a battery cell factory in Byhalia, Mississipp.

The upcoming facility, spanning 500 acres, will feature a two million-square-foot, energy-efficient factory with an annual manufacturing capacity of 21-gigawatt hours (GWh) dedicated to lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells. This significant project aims to commence production by 2027 and is anticipated to generate over 2,000 manufacturing jobs in the U.S.

Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Truck AG, and PACCAR have collectively invested between $2 billion and $3 billion in this venture, each holding a 30 percent stake in Amplify Cell Technologies. EVE Energy, owning the remaining 10 percent, will serve as the technology partner, leveraging its expertise in battery cell design and manufacturing.
