AUBURN HILLS, United States — American Rheinmetall has won a contract worth about $710,000 to machine components for Kongsberg’s MCT-30 turret, which is used on the U.S. Marine Corps ACV-30, the company said.
American Rheinmetall will do the work as a subcontractor to Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Rheinmetall said in an emailed press release today.
The award is for machined turret parts, not the full MCT-30 turret and not the ACV-30 vehicle. The emailed release did not say how many components or turrets are covered.
Michigan Work
Rheinmetall said its Lapeer and Lansing plants will manufacture the parts, with deliveries scheduled through 2026 and 2027. It said this is the first Kongsberg contract for American Rheinmetall’s Michigan operations, after earlier work with Kongsberg at its Maine plant on the CROWS program.
Tom McDonnell, senior vice president of sales and marketing at American Rheinmetall, said the award “reflects our expanding partnership” with Kongsberg on the ACV-30 program.
American Rheinmetall is the U.S. unit of Rheinmetall AG, which is listed in Frankfurt. The ACV-30 award is separate from American Rheinmetall’s Lynx XM30 prototype work for the U.S. Army.
