Paris, France — TotalEnergies said Tuesday it partners with Sinopec to produce sustainable jet fuel at a Sinopec refinery in China, adding it will process local waste or residues from the circular economy such as cooking oils and animal fats.
The collaboration aims to develop a unit producing 230,000 tons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel annually from local waste. Sinopec brings its SRJET technology, while TotalEnergies contributes expertise.
Both companies focus on low-carbon solutions, with TotalEnergies targeting 1.5 million tons of SAF production by 2030. TotalEnergies, already one of Europe’s leading SAF producers, will bring its experience and expertise in the technical, operational and distribution fields.
