  • QIAsymphony Connect supports high-growth applications like liquid biopsy and has secured FDA listing in the U.S. and EUDAMED listing in Europe.

VENLO, Netherlands, and HILDEN, Germany — Qiagen N.V. today announced the commercial launch of QIAsymphony Connect, an IVD-compliant platform designed for automated clinical nucleic acid extraction. The new system builds on the established QIAsymphony platform, which has over 3,300 cumulative placements worldwide.

Qiagen said in an emailed press release today that QIAsymphony Connect helps clinical laboratories standardize extraction across various assay workflows. The platform delivers highly concentrated DNA and RNA for sensitive downstream assays.

Platform Features

The QIAsymphony Connect integrates liquid handling, prefilled IVD reagent cartridges, and automated load checks. It also includes guided workflow setup to minimize variability between runs and operators. The system supports reproducible nucleic acid extraction with reduced hands-on time.

Traceability and Throughput

Automated barcode reading for primary sample tubes and eluates, built-in audit trails, and onboard process controls provide complete sample traceability. The platform processes up to 96 samples in four independent batches, supporting routine laboratory productivity. Its bead collection and elution approach, with sample input volumes from a few microliters up to 10 mL, yields highly concentrated DNA and RNA. This supports sensitive applications such as liquid biopsy, oncology, and infectious disease diagnostics.

Regulatory Milestones and Adoption

Qiagen has completed FDA listing in the U.S. and EUDAMED listing in Europe for QIAsymphony Connect. The company has already received initial customer orders for the platform. Users have noted the intuitive guided workflow setup, comprehensive sample traceability, and reduced hands-on time as key advantages.
