Wiesbaden, Germany — The Federal Statistics Office of Germany counted 1% more students in the 2023/2024 school year in Germany, with growth attributed to a rise in foreign students.
Totaling around 11.2 million students, an increase of 107,000 students from the previous year, marking the second consecutive year of growth.
The influx of foreign children and teenagers, especially in the 5 to 19 age group, contributed significantly to this rise, with a 27% increase in the number of foreign individuals in this age range.
