BASEL, Switzerland — Novartis will present data from 10 abstracts across its cardiovascular portfolio at the 2026 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, reinforcing its leadership in addressing cardiovascular risk.

The company said in an emailed press release today that the presentations will include late-breaking Phase 4 VICTORION-CHALLENGE data for Leqvio and new analyses for abelacimab.

Key Presentations

Novartis will present Phase 4 VICTORION-CHALLENGE data comparing inclisiran, marketed as Leqvio, against bempedoic acid for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in patients with high and very high cardiovascular risk. This will be a late-breaking oral presentation on August 31.

Exploratory findings from the VICTORION-Difference trial will also be presented, showing how an inclisiran-based treatment strategy reduces the need for therapy escalation to achieve LDL-C goals.

New analyses from the AZALEA-TIMI 71 study will characterize the bleeding profile of abelacimab in patients with atrial fibrillation, including recurrent bleeding events. This oral presentation is scheduled for August 29.

The Lp(a)CCELERATE initiative, in partnership with the European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS), will explore strategies to advance guideline-recommended Lp(a) testing in clinical practice. Findings from its contextual analysis will be presented on August 29.

Additional presentations include insights from the PARACHUTE-HF trial on Entresto (sacubitril/valsartan) versus enalapril in heart failure due to Chagas disease. The TRANQUILITY study will also present efficacy data for monthly and quarterly dosing of pacibekitug, an IL-6 ligand mAb, for inflammation in chronic kidney disease with high cardiovascular risk.

Company Commitment

Ruchira Glaser, Global Head, Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic Development at Novartis, stated the data underscore the company’s commitment to advancing cardiovascular science for patients who remain at risk despite current treatment. Glaser added that Novartis’s portfolio reflects its focus on addressing persistent challenges in cardiovascular care, from foundational medicines like Leqvio and Entresto to investigational therapies.
