September 06 2024 12:59:15 UTC– Iraq’s Ministry of Defence has ordered 12 Airbus H225M helicopters, signed in Baghdad by the Minister of Defence, for various military missions. The helicopters will replace older models and enhance capabilities.

Deliveries begin in 2025

The Airbus H225M, previously known as the Eurocopter EC725, is a long-range tactical transport military helicopter designed by Airbus Helicopters. It is part of the Super Puma/Cougar family and is known for its versatility and robustness in various military operations.

According to Airbus, there are some 350 H225s and H225Ms in service across the world, totaling more than 880,000 flight hours. Military customers include France, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, Kuwait, Brazil, and Hungary.
