Wiesbaden, Germany — Import prices for cocoa beans increased by 73.4% in January 2024 compared to the previous year, marking a significant rise in costs for a key chocolate ingredient, Germany’s Federal Statistics Office said.
This surge is the largest in over 20 years, impacting the prices of cocoa beans, cocoa nibs, cocoa mass, and cocoa butter.
