AHMEDABAD, India — IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a franchise agreement for a 40-room Garner hotel in Ahmedabad, the company said, with an opening scheduled for 2029.
The hotel will be developed by Devpriya Buildcon and managed by United Hospitality Management India, IHG Hotels & Resorts said in an emailed press release today.
IHG described UHM as one of its third-party hotel management partners in India. The deal is a franchise signing, not a hotel opening and not an IHG acquisition of the property.
Location and Brand
IHG said the hotel will sit at the Motera-Sabarmati junction in North Ahmedabad, near Narendra Modi Stadium, the Sabarmati bullet-train hub, and nearby corporate districts. It said the project is the first Garner hotel in Ahmedabad and part of the expansion of its midscale conversion brand in India.
Garner is an essentials-segment conversion brand. The emailed release did not disclose the franchise fee, investment cost, or number of Garner hotels already open in India.
InterContinental Hotels Group PLC, which trades as IHG Hotels & Resorts, is listed in London and New York.
