Paris, France — Enedis, TotalEnergies, VINCI Autoroutes, and European truck manufacturers collaborate to assess the needs for long-distance truck electrification in France by 2035, TotalEnergies said Friday.
The needed investment in the power grid is estimated at €630 million between now and 2035.
The study highlights infrastructure and power requirements, mutualization benefits, and land use challenges.
Recommendations include shared planning, regulatory frameworks, and incentives for private investments in electric trucks and charging infrastructure.
The study includes European Truck Makers, Iveco, MAN Truck & Bus France, Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Renault Trucks, Scania, and Volvo Trucks.
