Bonn, Germany — DHL Group is deploying hydrogen trucks in Germany for a one-year pilot at the Cologne location, the company said Thursday.
DHL Freight has recently introduced a hydrogen-powered truck by Paul Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH for distribution and line hauls at its Cologne location. This Mercedes-Benz Atego based Paul Hydrogen Power-Truck marks a significant step in the company’s sustainability strategy.
Deployed in early February, it represents the second hydrogen truck for DHL Group in Germany, complementing another vehicle already in operation for the Post & Parcel Germany division at the Cologne West facility. These initiatives align with DHL’s goal of reducing emissions to less than 29 million tons by 2030, showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainable drive solutions.
The trucks are based on the Mercedes-Benz Atego and will be used for distribution and line hauls.
