September 02 2024 08:43:56 UTC– DHL Group announced the appointment of Andries Retief as the new Chief Commercial Officer for the EMEA region. Retief succeeds Leonard Aerts, who has transitioned to a role at Monta Holding B.V. DHL Supply Chain has been working in partnership with Monta, a leading Dutch e-commerce fulfillment company, since October 2022.

With a career at DHL Supply Chain dating back to 2009, Retief brings a wealth of experience in finance, transportation, operations, and country management across Africa, Europe, and Asia. His most recent role saw him leading DHL Supply Chain in Southeast Asia, where he successfully spearheaded growth initiatives in several countries.

As the new Chief Commercial Officer, Retief will immediately turn his attention to the upcoming peak season, a critical period for the logistics industry. DHL noted that this time of year presents one of the most significant challenges for the sector. Additionally, Retief plans to enhance DHL’s offerings for smaller web shops through the DHL Fulfillment Network, aiming to better serve this growing segment.

DHL’s strategic focus on e-commerce aligns with broader industry trends, as more businesses increasingly rely on efficient supply chain solutions to meet rising consumer demands. Retief’s leadership is expected to strengthen DHL’s position in this dynamic market.
