Zurich, Switzerland – ABB, the Swiss multinational automations expert, said Friday Morten Wierod has been appointed as the new CEO of ABB, succeeding Björn Rosengren.
Wierod will take office on August 1, 2024, with Rosengren stepping down on July 31, 2024, and retiring by December 31, 2024. Wierod, a Norwegian, has been with ABB since 1998 and is currently the President of the Electrification Business Area.
Rosengren will assist in the transition until the end of the year. ABB aims to maintain its focus under Wierod’s leadership.
ABB’s Annual General Meeting will take place on March 21, 2024, in Zurich, Switzerland. Shareholders can participate by registering by March 15, 2024, and can vote electronically.
