• Airbus Helicopters Reports 536 Net Orders in 2025 Amid Strong Market Growth
MARIGNANE, France – Airbus Helicopters announced on January 26 that it secured 536 net orders in 2025 from 205 customers across 50 countries, marking a significant increase in market activity.
The company also reported delivering 392 helicopters during the same period.
What is new?
Airbus Helicopters recorded 544 gross orders and 536 net orders for 2025, reflecting an order intake increase of nearly 20% in units compared to the previous year. The orders originated from 205 customers in 50 countries. The company achieved a 51% share of the civil and parapublic market and increased its military market share to 28%. According to CEO Bruno Even, the performance demonstrates the strength of the company’s modern civil and military portfolios. “Our focus on defence and security has never been sharper,” Even stated, also highlighting the company’s move into Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS).
Key Sovereign and Civil Commitments
The year was marked by significant government contracts. Spain placed a landmark order for 100 helicopters, including 50 H145Ms and 31 NH90s. Germany continued its fleet modernization by exercising an option for 20 additional H145Ms, bringing its total to 82. The NH90 program also saw new orders from the Netherlands and a support contract from Greece. Other major military sales included Greece ordering eight H215s for firefighting and Morocco signing for ten H225M helicopters.
In the civil and parapublic sectors, the H145 was a top seller with 149 orders. The H160 program secured approximately 50% of its market segment, with deliveries for law enforcement to the French Gendarmerie Nationale and for firefighting services in Japan. The H160 also began offshore operations in the U.S. energy sector. The H175 received 15 orders in 2025.
Innovation and Strategic Expansion
Airbus unveiled the H140, a next-generation light twin-engine helicopter, which has already secured 61 firm orders. The company’s Racer demonstrator surpassed performance targets by achieving a cruise speed of 440 km/h. A significant strategic move involved integrating Survey Copter to establish a tactical drone range, resulting in the first UAS contracts for the Flexrotor and VSR700 systems. The military version of the H160, the H160M “Guépard,” completed its maiden flight in July. To meet demand, the company has started work on a new H125 Final Assembly Line in Vemagal, India, its fourth worldwide.
