Today, the disbursement of aid begins for open-air fruit and hop farms, Germany’s Federal Agricultural Ministry said in Berlin. Over 13,400 farms will receive approximately 28 million euros in support. The aid package aims to assist sectors that have been severely economically affected since spring 2020. The distribution of the aid is as follows: tree fruit (48.3% of funds), berry fruit (21.2% of funds), mechanically harvested fruit (6.2% of funds), and hops (24.3% of funds).
