- Swiss Re Promotes Pieterse to Chief People Officer
ZURICH – Global reinsurance firm Swiss Re announced Thursday it has appointed Nicole Pieterse as its next Chief People Officer, effective January 1, 2026.
Pieterse, who currently serves as the company’s Head of Human Resources for Property & Casualty Reinsurance, will succeed Cathy Desquesses. According to the Zurich-based company, Desquesses is stepping down from the executive role for personal reasons after four and a half years of service.
An internal promotion, Pieterse joined Swiss Re in 2015 and brings extensive senior HR experience from across the financial services industry.
In a statement, Group CEO Andreas Berger said Desquesses was stepping down to focus on her health and praised her pivotal role in the company’s transformation.
Both the CEO and Chairman Jacques de Vaucleroy welcomed Pieterse to the Group Executive Committee, citing her leadership within the firm
