Frankfurt, Germany — The European Central Bank (ECB) Wednesday shared an interview with its German rate-setting executive board member Isabel Schnabel.
The Mannheim, Germany economics Phd told the Financial Times that “we know, also from historical experience, that inflation can flare up again”, cautioning against price-wage spirals in the light of recently rising unit labor costs across the eurozone.
“If demand is held back by restrictive monetary policy, it will be much harder for firms to pass through higher costs to consumers.”
