ATLANTA, United States – IHG Hotels & Resorts announced on January 26 the U.S. market debut of its Ruby Hotels brand with a new property in downtown Chicago. The hotel, a partnership with Ruby Group, is slated to open in 2027 following the renovation of the historic Inn of Chicago building.
What is new?
IHG Hotels & Resorts is introducing its Ruby Hotels brand to the United States through a partnership with Ruby Group. The first property will be located in downtown Chicago. Under a 30-year franchise agreement, Ruby Group will develop and operate the hotel, which involves the renovation and repositioning of the historic Inn of Chicago building.
Project Scope
The renovation of the late 1920s-era landmark is scheduled to start in the latter half of 2026. The project will transform the building into a 22-story hotel with 412 rooms. The plan includes a reimagined lobby and bar, along with a rooftop terrace and bar offering views of the city skyline.
The guestrooms will feature efficient layouts and premium finishes. The public spaces are designed to attract both travelers and local residents, reflecting the urban lifestyle focus of the Ruby brand.
Key Details
The future Ruby Hotel will be situated in the Inn of Chicago building, located one block east of the famed Magnificent Mile. The development is a strategic milestone for Ruby’s growth in key global urban markets. Ruby Group will oversee the project and operate the hotel, which is expected to open in 2027.
