VIENNA, Austria – MM Board & Paper, a division of Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG, has signed an agreement with the R.D.M. Group to acquire the operating business of the R.D.M. Arnsberg recycled fibre-based cartonboard mill in Arnsberg, Germany.
The asset deal, announced on August 17, 2026, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending required antitrust approvals.

The Arnsberg mill possesses an annual production capacity of approximately 230,000 tonnes of recycled fibre-based cartonboard, specializing in liner products.
All employees at the Arnsberg facility will transfer to MM Board & Paper. The purchase price for the acquisition was not disclosed.
Strategic Rationale
Mayr-Melnhof views the transaction as an investment in its core business, designed to complement its existing production network.
The company anticipates realizing significant synergies by integrating the Arnsberg mill into its established industrial platform in Germany, which includes several cartonboard mills and packaging plants. This integration is also expected to facilitate a turnaround for the mill, increase production flexibility, improve supply security, and broaden the product and service offerings for customers.
