• Post Business Solutions and Comm-Unity Extend Digital Services Partnership to 2030
VIENNA, Austria – Post Business Solutions and e-government software specialist Comm-Unity announced on January 20, 2026, the extension of their collaboration agreement until 2030.
The partnership provides a dual physical and digital mail delivery system used by more than 330 Austrian municipalities and associations.
What is new?
The contract between Post Business Solutions, a subsidiary of Österreichische Post AG, and Comm-Unity EDV GmbH has been extended for an additional four years. The partnership, which has been in place for over a decade, will now continue until 2030. The agreement ensures the continued integration of the Austrian Post’s dual delivery module into Comm-Unity’s software solutions for public administrations.
Key Details of the Partnership
The collaboration centers on a dual delivery module that enables municipalities to manage all letter mail digitally, from standard correspondence to official RSa and RSb documents. When a document is sent, the system automatically checks if the recipient can be reached electronically, either via an E-Brief or the ‘Mein Postkorb’ digital mailbox. If digital delivery is not possible, the Austrian Post prints, envelopes, and physically delivers the document.
This system is seamlessly integrated into GeOrg, Comm-Unity’s flagship SAP-based administrative software, which is utilized by one in every eight Austrian municipalities. Major cities including Graz, Linz, and Innsbruck are among the more than 330 municipalities and associations that use the service, which processes millions of mail items annually.
Impact on Public Administration
Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG, stated that the cooperation represents an intelligent connection between the digital and physical worlds, enabling municipalities to securely transmit information to citizens directly from their administrative systems. The goal is to create a modern and service-oriented public administration.
Michael Stark, Managing Director of Comm-Unity, noted that the partnership has provided stability and quality for over ten years. He described the contract extension as a logical step to guarantee future reliability for the company’s clients. George Wallner, head of Post Business Solutions, added that the integrated system reduces media disruption and manual labor for municipalities while providing citizens with a choice in how they receive documents.
