• China Airlines Orders Five Additional Airbus A350-1000 Aircraft
TOULOUSE, France – Taiwan’s China Airlines placed a firm order on December 18 for five additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, increasing its total commitment for the widebody jet to 15.

Airbus announced that Taiwan’s China Airlines has placed a firm order for five more A350-1000 aircraft. This follow-on order brings the airline’s total number of A350-1000s on order to 15.
The new aircraft will join the carrier’s existing fleet of 15 A350-900s that operate on its long-haul route network. Kao Shing-Hwang, Chairman of China Airlines, stated that expanding the A350-1000 fleet is an important step in the company’s long-term growth strategy and aligns with goals to modernize its fleet and deliver an elevated travel experience.
Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales, described the order as a strong vote of confidence in the A350-1000 for the airline’s future network ambitions.

Airbus produces the A350 widebody aircraft, designed for intercontinental travel with a range of up to 9,800 nautical miles (18,000 kilometres). The aircraft features latest-generation Rolls-Royce engines and uses lightweight materials, resulting in a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO₂ emissions compared to previous-generation competitor aircraft.
The A350 is capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and Airbus is targeting 100% SAF capability by 2030. As of the end of November 2025, the A350 Family had received nearly 1,500 orders from 66 customers globally.
