- ABB Awarded Platinum Medal for Sustainability, Ranking in Top 1% Globally
ZURICH, CH – Global technology company ABB has been awarded a Platinum medal for its sustainability performance by ratings provider EcoVadis, the company announced on December 1, 2025.
The distinction places ABB in the top one percent of more than 130,000 companies assessed worldwide.
ABB, a leader in electrification and automation, received a score of 84 out of 100, an improvement of nine points from the previous year. The award recognizes the company’s evidence-based sustainability practices, which were evaluated by EcoVadis across four key areas: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
The Platinum rating is attributed to ABB’s integrated sustainability agenda, which focuses on enabling a low-carbon society. A key component of this strategy is the company’s Climate Transition Plan, a blueprint for reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. The company’s emissions targets were previously validated in 2024 by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

“EcoVadis ratings matter because they enable companies to make informed decisions about their suppliers, reducing risk, driving improvements and accelerating impact,” said Anke Hampel, ABB’s Group Head of Sustainability, in a statement.
Hampel noted that the rating validates the company’s progress and that ABB itself uses the EcoVadis framework to evaluate and select its own suppliers, requiring a minimum score to ensure a sustainable and resilient supply chain.
