86% of imported asparagus in 2023 came during the season from March to June, totaling 19,300 tons, while Germany’s own asparagus harvest remained relatively low at 111,900 tons. The majority of imports came from Greece, Spain, Italy, Mexico, and Peru. Germany exported only 3,200 tons of asparagus in 2023.
