The number of inpatient cancer treatments in 2022 reached a new low, with 1.4 million patients being treated in hospitals. Cancer remains the fourth most common reason for hospital stays and the second leading cause of death after cardiovascular diseases. Lung and bronchial cancer are particularly prevalent. The decrease in cancer treatments could be attributed to improvements in prevention, screening, and treatment. The overall number of hospital treatments remained nearly constant.
